Flinn Gallery presents "RELATIVITY" - Sept 12 - Oct 22, 2014

The Flinn Gallery presents " RELATIVITY"

On view through October 22, 2014

Riad Miah
Grace DeGennaro
Anne Lilly
Karen Kamenetzky

Riad Miah - " I approach the creation of these paintings somewhat as a scientist approaches his/her research: interested in the aesthetics and the process of discovery rather than solving a problem."  He works in oil paint on square format canvas mounted on wood panel.  Riad will give an Artist Talk on Sunday September 14 at 2pm.

Grace DeGennaro - "My work is informed by my study of ancient uses of pattern, symmetry and iconic symbolism in traditional forms such as Tantric drawings, Navaho weavings and Byzantine mosaics.  Modern interpretations of these vocabularies include geometric abstraction and Robert Lawlor's sacred geometry."

Anne Lilly says of her work - " I use carefully engineered motion to shift and manipulate our perception of time and space."  Employing opposing modalities -analytical and intuitive, rational and emotional her stainless steel sculptures elicit new connections between the physical space outside ourselves and our own private psychological domain.

Karen Kamenetzky - " My fiber wall hangings are inspired by microscopic/cellular imagery... a kind of invented biology zooming in on that fundamental nature of things and bringing it into vision."
